Bombay is a tall occasional or side table designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier in 1985 (sometimes dated 1986) for the Memphis Milano collection. Similar to her other work from this period, like the Emerald sideboard, Bombay is a study in how vibrant graphic patterns can be translated into three-dimensional furniture.

Design & Materials

  • Structure: The table is a high pedestal design featuring a circular top supported by four tall, slim lacquered legs.

  • Aesthetic: It is characterized by its bold use of plastic laminate, particularly on the tabletop, which features a dense, contrasting geometric pattern.

  • Colors: The design typically uses a primary-color palette, often with red or blue lacquered legs and a patterned top that reflects Du Pasquier's background as a textile designer.

Specifications

  • Height: 100 cm (approx. 39.4 inches).

  • Diameter: 40 cm (approx. 15.7 inches).

  • Authenticity: Current re-editions by Memphis Milano include an authenticity certificate and a guarantee stamp.
