Memphis - The Beverly 1981
The Beverly is a monumental sideboard and storage unit designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1981. It is considered one of the most structurally diverse pieces of the Memphis collection, famously blending "low-brow" industrial materials with "high-brow" natural wood veneers to challenge traditional notions of luxury.

Design & Specifications
Materials: Built from a combination of wood (poplar or MDF) covered in decorative plastic laminate and natural briar wood essence (often bird's-eye maple).
Storage: The main body is a two-door container featuring internal shelving and two drawers for practical storage.
Functional Sculpture: The design is anchored by a large diagonal panel made of natural wood, which Sottsass used as a visual "divider" between past and present styles.
Unique Accents: It features a playful, bent chrome-plated tubular steel post topped with a bright red bulb—described by some as a "clown's nose" that mocks the seriousness of modernist design.
Authenticity: Current production models are handmade in Italy by Memphis Milano and include a metal brand label and a Certificate of Authenticity
